HAPPY VETERANS DAY.  TO SAY “THANK YOU” DOESN’T EVEN BEGIN TO SAY ENOUGH.  TODAY WE SALUTE AND HONOR THOSE THAT ARE SERVING OR HAVE SERVED THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!

The WOD we have picked to do today was posted in the CrossFit.com website tonight as a new Hero WOD.  We know and understand that we just did quite a few pull ups in the WOD for Wednesday and that it’s a big ask to do more in this WOD.  We also know there are two other redundant movements from the week in the box step ups and the burpees.

Before you look at this WOD and think we are unfair (or crazy) to program this, please consider the sacrifice that has been made by the many men and women that have paid the ultimate price.  Nuff said.

IF you need to modify this one to cut the pulling volume, please do so. Also, band up as necessary.  This isn’t as much about the workout as it is about honoring our Veterans and our heros.

Suffering together is the 970 way.

Honoring Maxton Soviak

In honor of Navy Corpsman Maxton Soviak, 22, who was among the 13 U.S. service members killed during the attack outside the Kabul airport in Afghanistan on Aug. 26, 2021.

Soviak was an avid CrossFitter at CrossFit Hita, CrossFit Latte Stone, and Custom Fitness Guam, and this workout includes some of his favorite CrossFit movements.

“Max loved hard work, he loved the grind, and he never gave up. He was never one to put people down but rather pull them up to be great.” — Harold Aranda, a family friend.
