LANDON AND LOGAN’S STORY
Landon:
Before Crossfit I considered myself an athlete. I was playing 3 sports, football, baseball, and basketball. I thought I was a pretty good athlete too, but the problem was that I wasn’t in as good of shape as my peers. I could barely make it through the conditioning camps before seasons without feeling like I would die. I was never really good enough to be a starter or get a lot of playing time. When I played baseball I was able to succeed as best as I could, I wasn’t the best hitter because I wasn’t as strong as I could have been. Fortunately for me, my dad found CrossFit. I was always skeptical about doing it. I was nervous that I would be judged because I wasn’t in very good shape. My dad convinced me, well told me, that I need to start at CrossFit 970. I was 13 years old, 5’6”, 110 pounds, too skinny. I didn’t realize how out of shape I was until I started the on ramps with the trainers and I was out of breath after my first squat. Throughout that summer I went almost every day and rode my bike to the 11 am class. During my time at CrossFit 970 I noticed that I was getting stronger, faster, and fitter than everyone else my age. I was also able to become a better athlete. I have been growing up in the box. I have become more social and more respectful than I used to be and I know that has to do with meeting all the awesome people at CrossFit 970. At age 14 I was convinced I was in the best shape of my life. I was doing things no one else my age was doing: cleans, snatches, muscleups, etc. During high school I knew I needed to continue doing CrossFit, it was helping me so much. Now I am able to do a lot of the workouts at the prescribed weight, something I would have never thought I could do 3 years ago. I believe now I am in the best shape of my life and I’m only going to get better from here. CrossFit 970 has done so much for me from giving me a place I can go when I need to blow off steam, to friends and coaches that I can learn a lot from. CrossFit has made me the person I am today. I am an athletic, strong, and humble young man. I love going to CrossFit and seeing myself get better every day. CrossFit 970 is a tremendous place that feels like home to me, because of the coaches and the members.
Logan:
I am Logan, I’m a 13 year old 8th grader. My dad is Steve and my brother is Landon. I have been around CrossFit 970 for 5 years since my dad first brought me to do a workout. I remember my brother and dad talking CrossFit and I wanted to join the gym so I could be like them. Since my first WOD I’ve wanted to be a member of CrossFit. I became a member in the summer of 2014 and I have noticed how much it has changed me physically and mentally. I have grown into a more mature version of myself since I started, and have noticed how much of a difference CrossFit has had on my body. I felt how much CrossFit has helped me when I was playing fall baseball. My strength was so much better from the previous season. I try to attend 5 classes a week to be the best I can. I feel like I am cheating myself when I miss a WOD during the week. My goals are to become a better all around athlete, and to be able to beat my dad and brother on a regular basis. smile emoticon CrossFit has made me a better person through the positivity in each class. The people are supportive and the coaches make sure you understand and are motivated. I never get tired in sports and I feel like my body is as healthy as it gets. I want the world to know that there is no other gym in the world better than CrossFit 970. We have the best coaches and people in the world. The people are funny, fun to talk to, and very supportive. This gym is always what I look forward to when I’m in school because of the environment. I would recommend CrossFit 970 to everyone because it is great fitness and a great community. Thank you to everyone involved in my CrossFit journey.
